Have you been to Terengganu and seen the fascinating sceneries there?
Oh, if you haven’t you should!
It is a suitable place for you to relax your mind, spend some time with your loved ones or maybe you can go hiking or trekking at the waterfall or jungles you can find in Terengganu. You decide what you want to do there.
Here, I’ll be listing down what interesting things you can do and places you can visit in Terengganu!
The very first thing that you should do as soon as you arrive in Terengganu is to eat keropok lekor and satar.
Keropok lekor in Terengganu are superb. They use fresh fish to make it and at some places, you can even see the process to make it. If you ever heard of keropok losong and wondered what it actually is, let me tell you. Both are just the same but keropok losong got their name because it was made in Losong, Terengganu and that is one of the best places for you to get your keropok lekor.
They also sell frozen Keropok lekor so you can bring them back as souvenirs. Satar are also made from fish but they are grilled on charcoal and mostly can be found along the street in Terengganu. (spicy satar tastes better, trust me.)
Next, you should go scuba diving.
Scuba diving in Terengganu is actually insane! The crystal-clear water will give you the best experience that you can ever get. Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Kapas, Pulau Tenggol. You name it. Almost every island in Terengganu will make you satisfied with the amount of money you will have to spend.
Diving in Tenggol? Fascinating. It usually includes 5 boat dives and an up-close tour to Tenggol’s underwater world. Night diving is the extra mark for Pulau Tenggol. If you think scuba diving is too much and tiring, worry less you can also snorkel around or just chill on the beach.
Visiting Masjid Terapung and Masjid Kristal should be a must!
Do you know how charming these mosques are? Masjid Terapung has one of the best Islamic architecture and is painted in white and Masjid Kristal is so massive. The attraction of this floating mosque is obviously its reflection on the water. You can see the colour of the mosque on the water.
Masjid Kristal or Crystal Mosque were made of steel, glass and crystal which cost around 80 million USD. It has a huge crystal chandelier in the middle of the main prayer hall and the mosque is very stunning especially at night.
Searching for souvenirs? Pasar Payang is the right place for you.
This is also known as Central Market. It is where the locals sell fish, fruits, vegetables and kuih. There are several floors that you can explore if you want. At the upper floor it is usually the place for songket and batik. They are all hand woven by the locals. Here, you can get different types of souvenirs at a cheaper price. Handmade or not, all you can find here.
There are actually a lot more interesting places that you can find in Terengganu. As you arrive, take a look around and you might discover a new place that no one knows.
